Grant Scheme 2009 – 2010
The Welsh Assembly Government in a bid to improve both the number and quality of public conveniences available in Wales has introduced a ‘Local Facilities Access Grant’ for 2009 – 2010.
The grant, which will be administrated by the City and County of Swansea, enables businesses to claim up to £500 per premises for allowing the public access, free of charge, to their toilet facilities.
There are a number of criteria which have to be met to qualify for the grant including:

Toilet facilities are of an acceptable standard relating to safety, hygiene, accessibility for disabled people and for both sexes;
Facilities are provided for an agreed number of hours;
The facilities are advertised on the Authority’s website;

The availability of the facilities is clearly publicised so to be clearly seen by people from outside the premises;
Your business can still apply for the grant even if facilities are currently offered to the public, free of charge.
